Urdu Essay Hazrat Umar Farooq Essay in English: An Event from the Islamic History: Once a young man was brought before Hazrat Umer (R.A). Two young men were holding him by his arms. They told Hazrat Umer (R.A) that the young man had killed their father. When asked, he admitted to have hit the man with a stone in anger.  However, he had no intention to kill him.

Hazrat Umer (R.A) asked about the desire of the two young men. They said that they wanted to take the revenge of their father's murder. According to the Islamic law, Hazrat Umer (R.A) sentenced the killer to death. The young man requested Hazrat Umer (R.A) to give him a chance to carry out the instruction of his late father. The father had given him some gold to hand over to his brother. He requested the Khalifah to give him three days to do so.

Hazrat Umer (R.A) accepted his request. "But who would give the guarentee of that young man?" This was the question on everybody's mind. The young man looked around. There where many people in the court. He pointed to Hazrat Abuzar Ghafari (R.A) to give him guarantee. Hazrat Abuzar Ghafari (R.A) did not know the young man. However, he believed in his words and agreed to give the young man's guarantee. The young man was thus allowed to go.

On the third day, many people gathered in the court. All were anxious to see the young man. Time passed but the young man did not come. All people were anxious about the fate of Gazrat Abuzar Ghafari (R.A)."What will happen if the young man did not turn up?", though the people who had gathered in the court. But He (R.A) was confident. Suddenly, there rose a cloud of dust at some distance.

The people started looking towards that. After some moments they saw a young man running very fast. When he reached the court he was out of his breath. In a faltering voice he offered himself for the punishment. All the people were impressed by the young man who had kept his promise. The two young men, whose father he had filled, forgave him. This incident shows the importance of promise and honesty in Islam.
